Research output: Contribution to journalArticle

Abstract

A series of settlements of Hispanic origin situated in the foothills and high plateaus in the north of Chile have been object of important alien influences. During this process, also marked by drama and the rule by the strongest particularly during Spanish conquest, important architectural manifestations (and its associated uses) which have taken the ancestral traditions of these Andean villages and contributed to the historic memory have taken place. These villages are presented from the elements which shape their identity (settlement history, architecture, and its uses) by formulating the hypothesis on validity and valuation of themselves.
